Two Indian Engineers Sued Apple For Stealing Their Patent And Just Won Rs 5,600 Crores!

The four engineers (including Gurinder and
Terani) played an instrumental role in
coming up with a technology known as
‘Table-based Data Speculation Circuit for
Parallel Processing Computer’, which
enhances the processing powers of a device.
Apple Inc. used this technology, which was
patented by the WARF in 1998, in powering
their A7, A8, and A8X processing chips.
These chips were used in Apple's flagship
products like the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, and
the recently released iPhone 6s. The case
will proceed in 3 phases, namely, liability,
damages, and willful infringement. Although
the jury is yet to decide on the sum that
needs to be awarded to the University, and
the two Indians in question, the university
has asked for remuneration in the region of
$862.4 million in damages.
Apple has already been directed by the court
of law to cough up around $400 million in
the damages phase. But, if found guilty, they
are likely to be slapped with another $400
million. Apple responded to these claims by
saying that the patent was invalid, and that
there was no copyright infringement. The
India-born engineers moved to the US after
completing their graduation from Birla
Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani
(Rajasthan).

Merc’s latest, a bullet-proof heavyweight at Rs.10.5 crore

German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz on Tuesday
unveiled Maybach S 600 Guard in India with a price tag of
Rs 10.5 crore (ex-showroom Delhi).
“…most of the global heads of states, top diplomats,
business tycoons and celebrities prefer a ‘Guard’ vehicle.
The Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard is launched in India
within 15 days of its international debut. With this launch,
we continue to follow our ‘top of pyramid’ approach for the
discerning Indian customers,” Roland Folger, Managing
Director and CEO, Mercedes Benz India said. The car,
company claims, is the first civilian vehicle to be certified
with the highest ballistic protection level VR10.
The Mercedes-Benz Guard range in India currently
comprises the Mercedes-Maybach and S 600 Guard.
The 4.7 tonne vehicle, which is the most expensive car
from Mercedes portfolio in India, comes with the highest
levels of ballistic and blast protection, available for a non-
military vehicle.
Last month, rival Audi introduced the A8 L Security sedan
with price starting at Rs 9.15 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The car satisfied the criteria of the class VR 9 ballistic
protection standard, which is one of the most stringent
requirements for civilian high-security sedans.
PTI adds
The car comes to the country as a completely built unit
(CBU). “With the introduction of the Mercedes-Maybach S
600 Guard we have now created an unmatched offering in
the segment and strongly reiterated our technological
leadership in the field of special protection vehicles,” said
Mr. Folger. The model is the pinnacle of luxury motoring
coupled with the highest level of safety and has been
launched in India within 15 days of its international debut,
he added.
As per the VR 10 certification guidelines, body and windows
of a car must be able to withstand hardened steel core
bullets fired from an assault rifle. “It is hence not surprising
that most of the global heads of state, diplomats, business
tycoons and celebrities prefer a Guard vehicle,” Folger said.
The 4.7 tonne vehicle, which is the most expensive car
from Mercedes portfolio in India, comes with various safety
features including cabin fresh air system and a fire
extinguisher system with automatic activation.
Despite its weight, the car can sprint to 100 km/h in 7.9
seconds and attain a top speed if 190 km/h.

Shahrukh Khan vs Salman Khan Rivalry Over: ‘Sultan’ Teaser To Release In ‘FAN’ Movie Previews

There’s been an ongoing feud between Shahrukh Khan
and Salman Khan for quite some time. After hugging it
out at an Iftar party last year and again this year,
showing that they are on good terms, they are starting to
show support for one another in each other's films.
SRK and Salman have recently been showing a lot of
support for one another, sharing each other’s movie
trailer all over social media.
Now, SRK will be sharing a teaser of Salman’s movie
“Sultan” during the release of his movie “FAN.”
According to Indicine, Yash Raj Films announced that the
theatrical teaser of “Sultan” will be attached to the prints
of “FAN,” which hits theaters on April 15. The teaser is
expected to be on the internet on April 14.
It is expected that SRK’s film will be watched by millions
of people around the world, therefore advertising the
“Sultan” trailer in “FAN” will reach out to a huge section
of the movie-going audience.
Salman previously shared the link to the trailer of SRK’s
movie on Twitter, saying, @beinghumankhan being a fan
of @iamsrk,” and included the link to the movie trailer.
SRK had previously promoted Salman’s film “Bajrangi
Bhaijaan” by posting the first look of the film on Twitter.
He also promoted “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo,” while
Salman promoted SRK’s “Dilwale.”
Despite supporting each other’s films, the two actors are
heading for a box office clash this Eid with SRK’s
“Raees” and Salman’s “Sultan.” Both films are slated to
release on the same day and neither one of them want to
change their dates.
We’ve seen SRK and Salman praise each other on their
work, showing that they have become close again.
However, a source close to the industry revealed that the
two actors are not really what they appear to be, and are
feuding over their films’ releases.
“Things aren’t the way like they were a few months back.
Their fun and banter on the ‘Bigg Boss’ special episode
was genuine, but now they have a reason to hold a
grouse against one another. Both their films are
releasing on the same day and neither of them is ready
to opt out of the race,” said the source, according to
Filmi Beat.
“Sultan” and “Raees” are both set to release on Eid this
year, and neither of the actors are backing off from the
competition as they know that the holiday will play a big
factor in their film’s success.
“Salman is going all out to ensure that there is no delay
from his end. He’s been disciplined in terms of meeting
the planned schedule and has promised Adi that ‘Sultan’
will release on Eid,” added the source.
